About Us

Off The Row is the only student owned and operated custom apparel business on the Washington University campus. We provide high quality service, premium custom apparel, and all at incredibly low prices. We can customize shirts, sweatpants, sweatshirts, hats, towels, bags, chef wear, baby clothing, cardigans, Greek goods...basically if you can wear it we can customize it. We are licensed to produce Greek goods and official Washington University apparel. All of our artists are Wash U students. We are members of the community and would love to work with all elements of campus life.

To give you a brief introduction to the owners (details are below), we are Michael Fink, Jon Howard, John Meikel, Sam Propis, and Eric Salzberg. We are athletes, non-athletes, business, arts and sciences, and engineering students, Greeks and non-Greeks; we are involved in student groups and have worked with the university on student government.

Michael Fink

Owner, and the good-looking one

Michael is from Boca Raton, Florida, and is a junior economics major in the School of Arts and Sciences, also attaining a minor in general business. He is Google Adwords Certified, is a proud member of the B league IM basketball champion team "Hippos and Crows Anonymous," and a former member of the Saint Andrew's School state champion lacrosse team. After college, Michael is looking to work in the financial sector.

Jonathan Howard

Owner, chief visionary, and party shirt specialist

Jon is a junior from Cincinnati, Ohio. His major is undecided in the Olin Business School, but he has declared a minor in History. Outside of Off the Row, he is on the football team, the exec councils for Olin Sports Management Organization and National Black MBA Association, and does service at the St. Louis Juvenile Detention Center. His goal is for every single Wash U undergrad to own an Off The Row made shirt before he or she graduates.

John Meikel

Owner, and CAO (chief academic officer)

John is a junior from Kentucky. He is studying marketing and finance in the Olin Business school. He works with the marketing sector of the athletic department of Wash U, and can often be found working the crowd at the basketball and volleyball games. He is a member of the football team and the Phi Delta Theta fraternity. With his free time, John enjoys perusing the business section of the newspaper and excelling at the game he calls life.

Sam Propis

Owner, number one Texan, and chief engineer

Entering his junior year as a Mechanical Engineering major, Sam lives for multi-tasking. He hails from Houston, TX and is applying for the 3-2 program for an MBA. He is the VP of Sigma Chi, and started the men's club basketball team. Sam would like to work in a field that allows him to utilize his skills as an engineer, his business knowledge, and the experiences that he has gained from his cornucopia of on-campus activities.

Eric Salzberg

Owner, and the old one

Eric is a junior in the school of Arts and Sciences double majoring in economics and mathematics. From the DC area, Eric took a gap year after graduating high school to work as a photojournalist. He is the Vice President of Finance for Inter-fraternity Council, a member of the School of Arts and Sciences Academic Integrity Committee, and thinks that working less than 60 hours/week really isn't working at all.

News

Off The Row launches new website

After six years of the same website, Connor Montgomery has created a new site for the new owners. With a totally original design, we hope that the website will allow us to show Wash U just the beginning of how we're improving and changing the business.

Highly demanded REP STL shirts to return to campus

Off The Row has been in contact with WUcypher concerning their popular REP STL shirts. It has recently been confirmed that WUcypher is excited and surprised about the reaction to the shirts, and is planning to create new variations to it next year. The shirts should hit Wash U early in the fall.

New owners start to make changes

Now that we're a bit settled in and have started to make the business our own, we're excited to let everybody know that we're committed to improving the business and becoming more involved on campus. We just want everybody to know that if you have any questions, comments, or concerns, please don't hesitate to talk to us. We'd love to hear what you have to say.

Off the Row enters new ownership

As of April 27th, 2010, Off the Row entered new ownership. We-Michael, Jon, John, Sam, and Eric-are excited to continue to grow and improve on a StEP business that has been at Wash U since 2001.
