About Us

Off The Row is the only student owned and operated custom apparel business on the Washington University campus. We provide high quality service, premium custom apparel, and all at incredibly low prices. We can customize shirts, sweatpants, sweatshirts, hats, towels, bags, chef wear, baby clothing, cardigans, Greek goods...basically if you can wear it we can customize it. We are licensed to produce Greek goods and official Washington University apparel. All of our artists are Wash U students. We are members of the community and would love to work with all elements of campus life.

To give you a brief introduction to the owners (details are below), we are John Allman, Garrett Brown, Gabe Flores, Ajeet Gautam, and Harry Kainen. We are athletes, non-athletes, business, arts and sciences, and engineering students, Greeks and non-Greeks; we are involved in student groups and have worked with the university on student government.

Owners

John Allman

John is a sophomore from Chevy Chase, MD. He is double majoring in Econ and Psychology, Neuroscience and Philosophy in the School of Arts and Sciences. Outside of Off the Row, John is a member of the Sigma Chi fraternity and researches with the Wash U Psych department. He is looking forward to expanding and improving Off The Row both on and off campus.

Garrett Brown

Garrett is a sophomore studying economics and Spanish at Wash U. He was born and raised in Washington DC and is an avid fan of all DC sports teams. On campus, Garrett is a proud member of Sigma Phi Epsilon, a WUSA, and a volunteer basketball coach through Koaches 4 Kids. Garrett has always had a Michael Jordan poster on his wall and when he grows up he still just wants to be like Mike.

Gabe Flores

Gabe hails from Alameda, California. He is a Political Science major in the College of Arts and Sciences, and plans to attend law school in the future. On campus, Gabe serves as the treasurer of the Sigma Chi Fraternity, tutors English as a Second Language, and plays on several intramural sports teams. In his free time, Gabe enjoys golfing and visiting aquariums. Gabe says he'll only be satisfied when he sees Chancellor Wrighton wearing a tank top ordered through Off The Row.

Ajeet Gautam

Ajeet is a sophomore born and raised in Saint Louis. He is an Economics and Finance major with a passion for all things sports related. He loves to kick it with family and friends and never passes up an opportunity to meet someone new. Big dreams for Off The Row are always brewing in his mind; he hopes to one day have placed an order for the entire WashU community.

Harry Kainen

Harry is a Philosophy-Neuroscience-Psychology major from New York City. Outside of Off the Row, he was the treasurer of the Class of 2014, is a dedicated member of the Sigma Chi fraternity, and gave a tour (once). After graduation, Harry is looking to do whatever he can to avoid leaving.

Off The Row launches new website

After six years of the same website, Connor Montgomery has created a new site for the new owners. With a totally original design, we hope that the website will allow us to show Wash U just the beginning of how we're improving and changing the business.

Highly demanded REP STL shirts to return to campus

Off The Row has been in contact with WUcypher concerning their popular REP STL shirts. It has recently been confirmed that WUcypher is excited and surprised about the reaction to the shirts, and is planning to create new variations to it next year. The shirts should hit Wash U early in the fall.

New owners start to make changes

Now that we're a bit settled in and have started to make the business our own, we're excited to let everybody know that we're committed to improving the business and becoming more involved on campus. We just want everybody to know that if you have any questions, comments, or concerns, please don't hesitate to talk to us. We'd love to hear what you have to say.

Off the Row enters new ownership

As of April 27th, 2010, Off the Row entered new ownership. We-Michael, Jon, John, Sam, and Eric-are excited to continue to grow and improve on a StEP business that has been at Wash U since 2001.
